Bee Meadow Pool Extended Hours

2020 Season Membership Update Due to COVID-19

Updated 6-12-2020

Hello!

On behalf of the Hanover Township Recreation Commission and the Hanover Township Recreation Department, I am excited to announce the opening of the Bee Meadow Pool for the 2020 summer season!

As always, Hanover Township Recreation and the Bee Meadow Pool staff will work hard to provide you and your family with fun in the sun as safely as possible. During this unusual time, your pool experience may not be the same as what you experienced in the past as a member or guest, but we are determined it will be a pool experience worth remembering!

In order to accomplish this, I would like to share some important information about how the pool will operate within the guidelines provided by the state Board of Health and the Governor’s Executive Order. Answers to many of your questions should be provided in the attachments.

If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by email: dbrennan@hanovertownship.com or at the Recreation Department 973-428-2463. Our hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

It is important to remember that as the Governor loosens restrictions, Hanover Township Recreation will follow suit.

Attached you will also find the pro-rated fees for July 1, 2020, through September 7, 2020. We will begin accepting payment on Monday, June 15, 2020. If you registered and paid the original rates, you are eligible to receive a small rebate. Please contact us and let us know.

If you have filled out an application but have not yet paid, you will receive an invoice from the office.

You can pay by credit card or check made out to Hanover Township and send it to:

About the Pool

The Bee Meadow Pool, owned by the Township of Hanover and operated by the Board of Recreation Commissioners, opened in 1964. It was built and is run entirely on funds generated from membership fees and other operating revenues. The pool is located on the 89 acre Bee Meadow Park site.

The Main Swimming Pool contains a diving board, two slides, and a shallow area which gives the pool its Z-shaped configuration. The entire pool is surrounded by a concrete deck, which in turn is surrounded by lawn and professional landscaping. A small tot pool is also located on the grounds. The bathhouse provides hot showers and restrooms. A snack bar is also available to our members and their guests. Our newly added Recreation Area includes a half-court basketball court, tetherball court, and two 4-square courts. The pool’s professional staff is headed by a veteran manager and includes well trained and certified lifeguards.

All of these events are listed on our 2020 Special Events Calendar.

Both group and private swimming lessons are available during weekday and weekend mornings for an additional fee. Please call the Bee Meadow Pool Office (973-428-2475) when the pool is open for the season to register.
