Hanover Recreation Bobcat Wrestling 

  • Registration opens on Monday, October 18, 2021 via Community Pass.
  • The Hanover Bobcat Wrestling coaches will be at the Community Center on Monday, October 18 from 6pm-7pm to answer any questions and for in person registration.
  • The Bobcats are members of the Northern New Jersey Youth Wrestling League for Varsity competition. JV wrestlers will complete in the Future Stars league & tournament. Clinic wrestlers have weekly completion that is age and experience appropriate. We will also have tournament opportunities all season long.
  • If there are any parents interested in coaching the KOM (grades K-1) level, please contact the Recreation Department. 

Hanover Recreation Travel Basketball Boys Grades 6/7/8

  • Register via Community Pass for tryouts. (No fee for tryouts) 
  • A fee of $150 will be invoiced once participant makes the team. 
  • Participants are encouraged to participate in Recreation and Travel programs.

Hanover Recreation Basketball: Grades 3 through 6

Registration is now open. Registration closes Friday, November 19, 2021.

Pre-season clinics will provide instruction on developing and improving fundamental skills necessary for “game-day” play and success. Clinics are held in November and December. Games begin in January and end in early March. Weekly practices. Some limited travel to nearby towns may be required.

Hanover Recreation Basketball: Grades 7 & 8

Registration is now open. Registration closes Friday, November 19, 2021.

A recreational basketball program. Limited travel to games will be required. Practice will commence once teams have been formed. Games begin in January. 

Ski Club 

The Hanover Township Ski Club is available for students in grades 6, 7, and 8. The program runs for five Friday evenings beginning the first Friday after New Year’s Day. Participants can choose to either ski or snowboard. Bus transportation to Shawnee Mountain in Pennsylvania leaves from Memorial Junior School. Registration opens in October; there is a mandatory parent meeting prior to the season opening.

Bee Meadow Swim Team

Open to participants between the ages of 6 to 18, The Bee Meadow Swim Team is both an individual and a team sport allowing the swimmers to compete against themselves (improving their times and strokes) and against teams from the neighboring towns. Try-outs are held in early June to determine eligibility. Participants must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 meters) without stopping. “Rusty swimmer” clinics are held prior to try-outs so swimmers can brush up on their strokes. Registration begins in May and the season runs from early June through the end of July.

Girls Lacrosse 

Open to participants in grades 3 through 8 with the focus on instruction and skills development in the younger grades. The teams also participate in league play with surrounding towns. The boys program runs through the East Hanover Recreation Department; the girls program runs through Hanover Township Recreation. The season runs from March through early June. Registration is held in early January.

USA Sport Group We have been working hand in hand with Hanover Recreation to run sports classes, camps, and lessons for your Community. Our goal is to provide varied and high-quality programming to satisfy the sports instruction needs of all ages and ability levels within the Whippany community.

We offer a wide range of sports camps, classes, and lessons in conjunction with the Hanover Recreation.

Sports programs are offered for all ability levels and a range of ages spanning 2 to adult. From Parent and Me to toddler, to preschool, to kids classes and right through to adult programming, we have your sports needs covered.

Programs typically run by season in the spring, summer, fall, and winter. Camps, classes, and lessons run year-round to ensure we always have sports options to meet your family’s needs.
