Erroneous and unfounded comments have been posted on social media stating that the Township Committee may take formal action at its February 13, 2020, regular meeting in moving forward on one or two previously withdrawn overlay zones to fulfill the Township’s unmet affordable housing need.
The Township Committee is still in the process of deliberating and negotiating as to the best alternative approach to fulfill its unmet need obligation.
The Township Committee will discuss this matter with the Township Attorney in closed executive session during its legal conference work session at 7 p.m. as permitted by the Open Public Meetings Act.
There will be no formal action taken by the governing body during the 8 p.m. regular meeting.
If the Township Committee were to take action regarding zoning, it will be posted on the Township’s web site and personal notice will be sent to all property owners with 200 feet of the property in question.
