The Hanover Township Municipal Building and Community Center will reopen to the public with limited business hours commencing Monday, July 6th. The Township’s COVID-19 Preparedness Committee consisting of Business Administrator Joe Giorgio, Public Health Nurse Director Kathryn Whitehead, Chief of Police Mark Roddy, OEM Director Tom Quirk, and Human Resource Specialist Bill Byrne made the decision during its weekly meeting. With an abundance of caution in mind to protect and safeguard the public and employees, all visitors and employees must wear masks at all times when interacting. Upon arrival at the Municipal Building, visitors must proceed to the General Office where they will provide their names, addresses, and telephone numbers and who they wish to see. The information is essential for contact tracing purposes in the event someone becomes symptomatic. The same information will be recorded at the Community Center.
Once the information is recorded, the General Office will notify the appropriate department to escort the visitor to the office in question. The Township has installed sneeze guard shields made of durable plastic in certain offices that have open reception areas. Instructional signage is posted at the entrance doors and within the rotunda area of the Municipal Building directing visitors to the General Office. All visitors and employees are required to follow social distancing guidelines.
While all full-time civilian employees will report to work at 8 a.m., the Municipal Building and Community Center will receive the public Mondays through Thursdays between 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Fridays between 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Although COVID-19 cases have diminished state-wide, the virus is still prevalent, and therefore, it is essential and necessary to take precautionary measures in the interest of protecting the welfare and safety of visitors and Township’s employees.
The Hanover Township Community Center will open to the public beginning Monday, July 6, 2020, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with COVID 19 protocols in place. There are no evening hours until further notice.
If your group or organization has regularly scheduled meetings at either the Community Center or Monroe Hall and are interested in scheduling your regular meetings during the daytime hours of operation at the Community Center, please contact the Hanover Township Recreation Department (973- 428-2463) for a Facility Use Form.
