PUBLIC SCOPING HEARING ANNOUNCEMENT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Morris County Park Commission has contacted the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Green Acres Program, proposing the disposal of approximately 6.5 acres of undeveloped parkland located at 39 Parsippany Road, Hanover, N.J. and identified as Block 4301/Lot 6 on the official tax map of the Township of Hanover County of Morris, State of New Jersey.
The proposed disposal is in connection with the private redevelopment of properties identified as Block 3801/Lot 2 and Block 4101/Lots 1 & 23 on the Official Tax Map of the Township of Hanover. The redevelopment project will provide for affordable housing to satisfy a portion of Hanover Township’s constitutional affordable housing obligation, and would facilitate construction of Patriots’ Path through Block 3801/Lot 2 and Block 4301/Lot 6 in Hanover Township. Compensation for the disposal of the subject parcel of land is anticipated to be provided by way of eligible replacement land, dedicated funds for the acquisition of land for recreation and conservation purposes, or other monetary compensation pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.1(d)(3).

Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:36-26.8(a), a Scoping Hearing to obtain public comment on this request will be held virtually on Monday, January 25, 2021, at 6:00 p.m.
