Police & Fire Vaccine Update

"Getting a vaccine will keep you from getting COVID-19"

Effective today, January 7th, police and fire professionals will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. The Morris County Department of Law and Public Safety is in the process of coordinating with Atlantic Health Care respective to both scheduling appointments and the anticipated availability of the vaccine.

  • Phase 1A is currently administering vaccinations to EMS both paid and volunteer, sworn law enforcement personnel, fire professionals both paid and volunteer, as well as other first responders, public health officials and individuals serving in health care settings as well as residents and staff of long-term care settings.

  • You can schedule a vaccine appointment at the Morris County Regional COVID-19 Vaccination Center by visiting https://bit.ly/3onkSkC.
  • The Center is collaborative effort of Atlantic Health System, Morris County and the State of New Jersey and is located in the former Sears building at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall in Rockaway.

Future Vaccine Availability

  • Vaccine distribution is being managed based on the New Jersey Department of Health’s Vaccination plan for the safety and health of all New Jersey residents. Please note appointments are limited at this time but availability will continue to expand. The goal is to provide the vaccine to everyone who wants to receive it.   • Timing for vaccination of essential workers and other high-risk individuals included in Phase 1B will be announced shortly.
