Ammonia,
alcohol, bleach, butyl cellosolve and
other glycols, detergents, dyes,
fragrances, fine plastic particles and
lots of water.
If
anyone in your house has asthma, ADHD,
or any other health problem, perhaps
toxins in the environment are
contributing to the symptoms. If you
want to protect your health and the
health of the environment, consider
making your own cleaners. Once you
have the bottles and ingredients,
it’s as easy as making a cup of tea.
See the recipe for WonderSpray below.
You
can get squirt
bottles at a cosmetics wholesaler,
hardware store, etc. Borax and
distilled water is available at most
grocery or drug stores, and essential
oils are an option that will give the
final mixture a more pleasant smell.
You
can even make an
abrasive cleanser by using baking
powder in combination with the
WonderSpray. Simply place some
backing powder in a shaker container
(like a cheese shaker) making sure you
label the container accordingly.
Squirt the WonderSpray onto the
surface, sprinkle on the baking powder
and rub.
Another
idea is to use plain club soda water
in a squirt bottle
for
cleaning glass and mirrors. You will
have to dry the mirrors well to avoid
streaking, but it is worth not having
to breathe in all that ammonia.
