LABORER/DRIVER

 

The Township of Hanover seeks a full-time employee for the position of Laborer/Driver for the Department of Public Works. This position includes, but is not limited to, repairing roads, storm drains, collecting brush, grass, leaves, and heavy bulk pick-up items using a compactor truck.  Successful candidate will be required to work all storm and emergency related incidents and must be willing and able to work overtime.  Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds and be in possession of a valid New Jersey State Class B CDL license, or be willing and able to obtain same within six (6) months of date of hire.  A Class A CDL license and knowledge of mechanics and heavy equipment are a plus.   To obtain an application, click on the “Application” link below. FIRE SUBCODE OFFICIAL/ASSISTANT PROPERTY MAINTENANCE OFFICER

Fire Protection  Subcode Official/Assistant Property Maintenance Officer – Township of Hanover seeks qualified part-time Fire Protection Subcode Official/Assistant Property Maintenance Officer to work 10 – 20 hours per week to enforce the fire protection subcode of the State Uniform Construction Code within the Township of Hanover.  As needed, also assists with property maintenance, zoning and day-to-day operations within the Building Department.  Must possess a current and valid Fire Subcode Official license issued by the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, a current and valid Fire Protection Official License H.H.S., and a valid and current New Jersey driver’s license.  Additional Construction Code licenses not required, but a plus.  No fringe benefits.  EOE/ADA.  Call William Byrne at (973) 515-6662 for an .application, or click on the “Application” link below.

Wastewater Collection System Operator 

The Hanover Sewerage Authority in Whippany NJ is seeking qualified candidates for the full time position of Wastewater Collection System Operator.  Responsibilities include operation and maintenance of various sewer cleaning and CCTV inspection equipment and associated collection system activities such as manhole frame resetting, utility one call mark-outs, sewer installation inspections, completion and submittal of various reports and inspection of commercial and industrial grease interceptor equipment.  Additional duties include general housekeeping and upkeep of all assigned areas and equipment as well as treatment plant maintenance activities.  Availability for emergency response for sewer blockage remediation, repairs and other activities is mandatory.  Candidates must possess a High School Diploma and a valid NJ driver’s license. The Hanover Sewerage Authority in Whippany NJ is seeking qualified candidates for the full time position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I.  Responsibilities include operation and maintenance of various equipment, controls, valves, etc. according to schedule; recording and calculating data from various meters and indicators; sampling and analysis of wastewater and sludge from various facility locations as required; operation of sewer cleaning and inspection equipment and associated collection system activities; general housekeeping and upkeep of all assigned areas and equipment.  Rotating weekend and holiday coverage is required, as is availability for emergency repairs and response to facility alarms.  Candidates must possess a High School Diploma and a valid NJ driver’s license. Possession of or obtaining a Class B CDL with N endorsement is required.  Candidates must be proficient in math, reading and writing and must be able to communicate effectively.  Previous experience in wastewater operations and possession of NJDEP operator S or C class licenses is preferred but not required.  Salary is commensurate with experience and Hanover Sewerage Authority policies.  Applicants must pass a physical and drug test.  Hanover Sewerage Authority is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
