Ch. Rocky Top's Sundance Kid, a/k/a
"Rufus," is coming to the Morris County Library on Wednesday,
February 10, 2010 at 7:00 pm. Children of all ages are invited
to meet "Rufus" whose career record includes 32 Bests in Show
including Westminster in 2006. "Rufus," a Bull Terrier Dog, is
the first Bull Terrier to win Westminster. "Rufus" is also a pet
therapy dog and enjoys sitting nicely for petting. So, bring
your own camera and take a picture with "Rufus" and his big blue
Westminster ribbon. Rufus' owner Barbara Bishop of Holmdel, NJ
and James Dixon with Stradbrook Kennels in Long Valley will give
a short talk on the ins and outs of the dog show world,
Westminster history - a tradition since 1877 - and some local
dog lore. Who knows? Maybe your dog can win a Best in Show
someday! This free event is presented by MARDOG, Inc. the Morris
Area Responsible Dog Owners Group that brought you the off-leash
dog park in Morris Township. Come meet "Rufus" and network with
fellow dog owners. The talk will begin at 7:00 pm followed by a
Q&A, picture taking and light refreshments. The event is free
and will be held in the Public Meeting Room of the Morris County
Library, 30 East Hanover Avenue, Whippany. To RSVP, email
Alison at
mardog@optonline.net if you plan to
attend. For more info on Rufus, visit
