The Township’s Health Department has been informed that a person affiliated with a church in Hanover Township, but not a resident of the Township or the State of New Jersey, tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Members of the church who are in close proximity to the person in question have been given guidance to self-quarantine for a fourteen-day period of time in accordance with the New Jersey Department of Health instructions. There is no cause for alarm. The Health Department provided the church in question with the necessary guidance to ensure the health and safety of church parishioners.

Please take notice, that in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act at N.J.S.A. 10: 4-6, and in consideration of Executive Order No. 103, issued by Governor Murphy on March 9, 2020, declaring a state of Emergency and a Public Health Emergency in the State of New Jersey, & the Township of Hanover’s declaration of same on March 17, 2020, the Township Committee’s legal and conference work session that was scheduled for Thursday evening March 26, 2020, at 7 PM in Conference Room “A” at the Municipal Building, 1000 Route 10 in the Whippany section of the Township is canceled. This action is also in keeping with the Township’s decision earlier this week to close all municipal buildings to the public, out of an abundance of caution, & to cancel all board, commission and committee meetings until at least April 6, 2020, at which time an assessment will be made as to whether the Township can return to the normal schedule of conducting business.
