Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution and Eligibility

"Getting a vaccine will keep you from getting COVID-19"

The Township is passing on the following information received today from the County of Morris:

To date, the County COVID-19 Vaccination Megasite has immunized 60,000 persons. At present, 2,500 persons per day are immunized at the site. Over 50% of persons who have been immunized are over the age of 65. The aim is to increase the number of vaccinations to 3,000 persons daily this month and to increase the daily output to 4,000 next month. The increases will be dependent on deliveries of immunizations from the federal and state governments. In addition, Atlantic Health is examining contacting persons who have registered via text to advise that the registrant remains on the list and to inquire if they wish to remain registered. Many persons who registered may have since gotten their immunizations at other locations. If so, this will increase the number of available appointment slots.

The County may be receiving a limited allotment of the J&J vaccine. Our initial plans are to provide immunizations to persons in low-income congregate-care facilities including homebound elderly and developmentally disabled persons. In addition, the plans would include homeless persons and first responders who have not been immunized.

In addition, this is a summary of the press release issued yesterday by Governor Murphy’s Office which announced an expansion to the State's COVID-19 vaccination program as follows:
